About

About

Software for process- and industrial automation? What does that mean? It´s quite simple: There are different process industry sites. All these need measurement devices to monitor and operate their processes. That can be: devices to measure fluid level in a tank, rate of flow in a pipe, temperature of materials in use and more. To do so the measurement devices are equipped with software. Some device manufacturers develop this software inhouse- for others this is what we do.

Vision

CodeWrights as employer

Our polar star is our vision we align our daily work to. Our vision: In a networked world of things CodeWrights connects technologies and links data to information - for the human. Our seminal software solutions represent us: open, clever and reliable.

Distributed leadership instead of executives. Since we don't have managers in the classic sense, we won't put anyone in front of you to tell you how to do your job. Nevertheless, we are not without hierarchies. The difference to classic organizational charts is, however, essential, because the hierarchy is distributed across the company and is based on professional competencies. So instead of just one manager, you will find many different role owners who make decisions in certain areas. In addition, we all have an internal mentor who accompanies us individually.

For You

Our employees enjoy working here - that's our target. This is possible if some aspects fit together. How we achieve this? With our "For You" program.

For you! What does it mean?

It means we want to create a comfortable daily work atmosphere. Doing this we provide beverages, fruit and cereals. Okay, some portions of sugar are covered too. For lunch there are different options close-by such as a cantine and offerings at the main station. Being located there is quite convenient for commuting by public transport. Flexible work time and options for home office support you in organizing your work time.

If you are interested in socializing with colleagues you are welcome to do so participating at events (company year kick-off, summer party). You are a sportive person? Be part of our CodeWrights running team and run for us at run events wearing the provided shirt.

Sounds good? Perfect!

Laura

Software Engineer

I came to CodeWrights in May 2021. I was attracted to the presentation of employers through my internet research on various platforms.
After completing my dual studies in mechatronics, I joined a company as a development engineer. In addition to my daily work, I also did my master’s degree in mechatronics.
In 2020 I decided to take a big step. I am passionate about the front-end area and have trained full-time.

The start was great despite the pandemic. The onboarding process was partly carried out virtually and partly on site.
I can ask questions at any time and I was well integrated into the team. I am very happy with the way we work together in the squad. It can go on like this!

My thirst for knowledge also drives me again and again to learn new things and to think outside the box.
I particularly like that we use the Google OKR method and that I can even work on and contribute to HR tasks / HR projects.

Markus

Software Engineer

2005 I came to CodeWrights through a job advertisement in the Bonding fair catalogue. The field sounded very interesting to me, because I specialised on “Embedded Systems and Telematics” during my studies. In practice it is not priority of my every day work, but I enjoy developing products and continue to learn new things.

During the past years, I worked in different positions in the company. For example, as developer or project manager. At work I especially enjoy the opportunity to work at diverse projects. At CodeWrights I like the working atmosphere, the social interactions with colleagues and the proximity to the main station of Karlsruhe.

Sandra

HR

I came to CodeWrights in 2016 from a concern. I expected certain things from my move to a smaller company. I wanted to take on more responsibility, work more independently and get involved in such a way that I, as a partner, drive the success of the company together with our business. For me, HR work still means getting to know every employee as a person, facing them on an equal footing and being open to the concerns of our employees at all times. My area of responsibility is very diverse and also lies outside the "classic" HR topics - I enjoy that. The mix of corporate diversity of our shareholders and a small, agile company makes it for me. Because I have a family at home with a son , In addition to the work-related issues, the issue of work-life balance was also very important. With our flexible hybrid model, I can also fulfill my role as mother and wife and also do justice to my horse.

Andreas E.

Software Engineer

2010 I came within my studies through an internship to CodeWrights. Until today I still enjoy to develop new products by using latest technologies and expand my learning.

Added to the work advantages there are many more benefits. It begins with a shower room, because of which I can combine my work way with a sporting activity, and it ends at great events for the entire company.

Annelie

After Sales & Customer Care

I started at CodeWrights in 2010 as a working student for software tests. After my master's degree (musicology), I started as a Scrum Master in 2016. It is very important to me to further develop the agile way of working and to try out new methodologies and ways of thinking.
Due to my strengths, I work in my current role as After Sales and Customer Care Manager. I particularly like the fact that we actively integrate customer feedback into our work and thus contribute to improvement. What I particularly appreciate about CodeWrights is the collegial collaboration in a family environment and the opportunity to try everything.

Josè

Software Engineer

I’m from Colombia and got, during my study of computer sciences, a scholarship in Poland. From Poland my journey led me to Germany, where I came to CodeWrights in 2003. As a software developer the special field was new for me, but I was and am fascinated by the various technologies in a production plant. I value that CodeWrights is a dynamic and future orientated company. A highlight at working by CodeWrights is the team work and working atmosphere. Humour and to treat each other with respect is important to us.

Andreas W.

Software Engineer

2003 I started at CodeWrights with the emphasis on compiler construction and development. My emphasis changed quickly to the development of new solutions, which has positively influenced my role today. In the meanwhile I coordinate for CodeWrights projects which also go across the company boarders and work on new industry standards like IIoT and industry 4.0. CodeWrights is special by the fact: “It is all in the mix”.

Especially important for me, the large range between deepest technologies up to standardizations, as well as the cooperation and interaction with the colleagues. The art is to develop modern solutions for a conservative industry in the rushing time of the internet.

Andreas B.

Software Engineer

After completing my master's degree in “Mechatronic System Engineering”, I joined CodeWrights in April 2021. I searched for job postings for software developers in the field of industrial automation via "StepStone".

Due to the long lifetime of production plants and the high safety requirements, the digital transformation of the process industry is only at its beginning. Even after the first job interview at CodeWrights, I had the feeling that historical industry knowledge is combined meaningfully with modern principles of software development to unleash the existing potential for innovation.

Since I started working for the company, my expectations have indeed been met. In addition to the technical know-how, I also like the corporate culture. Suggestions for improvement are actively encouraged and taken seriously. Goals outside of project work can be defined on your own, e.g., to investigate research topics or to design new business models with colleagues from other divisions.

Christina

Software Engineer

I am from Bulgaria und after my first master’s degree in “Corporate Finance” I worked for a few years in the sector management and marketing, but I realized, that I wasn’t passionate about these topics, so in 2018 I made two important decisions for my further development: to do e second university degree in “Web Development” and to move to Germany.

I came to CodeWrights in May 2021 and during my first interview there, I realized that I want to be part of CodeWrights, not only because I find the “Process Automation” area particularly exciting and interesting, but also because I have the opportunity here to develop further in different areas and to contribute my ideas.
Since I am a mother of a young child, the topic of “Work-Life Balance” is particularly important to me. By CodeWrights I really appreciate the opportunity to work flexibly so I can successfully balance family and career. CodeWrights always has a friendly and positive work atmosphere and I always get help and support from all my colleagues.

Your options in our team

The squad decides: our hiring process
Since we don't have superiors in the classic sense, not a single person decides who we hire. Don't worry, we're not talking about a ten-person committee that asks you nasty questions, but rather about mutual get-togethers. We want to find out together whether you are a professional and cultural fit for us and whether you have the appropriate soft skills.

The first meeting is with Sandra from HR (via Teams)
The second meeting is with the colleagues from the squad (via teams)
The third meeting is a tour of our office with a final conversation

But you will notice how quickly we get to know each other.

Do you think you've come to the right place?
What are you waiting for?
